Sharon Janet Hague is a British–New Zealand author of speculative historical fiction, celebrated for breathing new life into the ancient world through richly imagined narratives grounded in deep research and emotional nuance.

Her award-winning Ancient Egypt series—Moses and Akhenaten: A Child’s Tale, The Tutankhamen Friendship, The Queen Who Became King, and Alexander, Pharaoh of Egypt—has captured the hearts of readers around the globe. Moses and Akhenaten earned the Literary Titan Award and Readers’ Favorite Award in 2024, followed by the BookFest Award in 2025. The Tutankhamen Friendship received a Literary Titan Award, and The Queen Who Became King won the 2024 Global Fiction Award. Several titles reached Amazon bestseller status, with The Queen Who Became King and Alexander, Pharaoh of Egypt both climbing to #1 in their U.S. categories.

Sharon holds a master’s degree in Egyptology from the University of Manchester and has practiced law alongside her writing career. Her passion for ancient history has taken her to Egypt many times, where the ruins and relics of the past continue to shape her work. She also contributes articles on Egypt’s enduring legacy to various publications.

She lives in New Zealand with her family and two remarkably mysterious cats—whose subtle influence somehow weaves its way into her stories more often than not.
